Design Rationale
The Lush Corner Shop
The corner shop is fast disappearing from our
local community there was a
decline of 1,406 stores between 2010-2012. (R) ‘The Lush Corner Shop’, will
enable the brand to diversify into a new direction, in turn breathing life back
into empty shop units.
The brand Lush is perceived on our high
street as being a colourful sensory experience. Lush is known for its ethical
values with regards to using ingredients that have not been tested on animals.
My design proposal takes the brand’ Lush’
into a new commercial direction.
Underpinning the concept is the key sensory experience targeted around
smell. You can smell Lush stores before you even see them and this gave me the
idea for a sweetshop that would evoke the sensors on a visual and aromatic
level.
